Adelaide greyhound racing is a hugely underestimated force in Australian greyhound racing. The city has proven itself time and time again to be a passionate supporter of the industry and has produced some of the finest greyhounds to ever run in this country.
There are two main tracks available for the enjoyment of locals, the largest and most centrally located Angle Park and the smaller and beautifully surrounded Gawler race track.
Angle Park
Angle Park is the number one track in South Australia and hosts the finest quality races in the state. Racing is run three times a week (Monday, Thursday and Wednesday) highlighting just how popular it has become.
Established back in 1947 the track has a 457m circumference, 51m turn radius and 6.5m of width. On site facilities include a full bar and top quality dine in restaurant.
It is also host to the biggest event in Adelaide greyhound racing, the Adelaide Cup worth more than $50,000.

Gawler
While the Gawler greyhounds may run on a slightly smaller track there is no shortage of quality action taking place every week.
Gawler also has the added bonus of being situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the entire country. About an hour north of Adelaide Gawler is the gateway to the Barossa Valley and retains that touristy feel around the race course.
Events are held on Tuesdays in the Gawler Showgrounds complex. The track is 494m in circumference with a 55m turn radius and 6.5m wide.
